It includes your shopping habits, driving record, medical diagnoses, work history, credit score and much more. The right to privacy refers to having control over this personal information. It is the ability to limit who has this information, how this information is kept and what can be done with it. AMBER DUBOIS MOM LAUNCHES SEARCH WEBSITE
Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

Remembering Amber Dubois
Amber Dubois vanished as she walked to school in February 2009. Investigators did not think Amber was abducted, so the case was treated as a runaway early on. Earlier this year, Amber’s body was found in California because another young girl, Chelsea King, had vanished in the area. A convicted sex offender, John Albert Gardner, was linked to both of the cases and arrested. In April 2010 Gardner confessed to killing Amber and Chelsea, and he will remain behind bars for life.
This week Amber’s mom launched a new website, TEAM AMBER RESCUE. According to the site, its mission states:
“Team Amber Rescue was formed to train volunteers in the proper search and rescue techniques so missing children can be found as quickly as possible. It was founded by Carrie McGonigle in loving tribute to her murdered daughter, Amber Leeanne DuBois.
Reported missing, the police declined to issue an Amber Alert and maintained that she was likely a runaway although possibly she could have been abducted. Carrie knew her daughter was someone’s victim, and, praying that she was still alive, worked with family, friends and volunteers to find her with searches on foot, on horse, door to door, websites, mailers, posters, media, psychics, and, even knocking on doors of known sex offenders.
CALIFORNIA TEEN ABDUCTED? HELP FIND NORMA LOPEZ (update)
Monday, July 19th, 2010
Norma Lopez MISSING (photo of the shirt she was wearing the day she vanished)
Norma Lopez vanished in broad daylight four days ago in Moreno Valley, California and now there is an all out search to find this beautiful teen. Police told me Norma left her summer school classes at the Valley View High School and was supposed to meet her sister, but she never made it to the location. Investigators believe she may have taken a short cut from Dracaea Avenue leading out to an area on Cottonwood Avenue, but somewhere in between authorities believe she may have been kidnapped. In fact, some of her personal belongings were found in a field, and there could be signs of a struggle. Investigators believe she was taken against her will and may have been thrown into a newer model green SUV. That vehicle was seen fleeing from the area at a high rate of speed.

Rachel Cooke MISSING
Rachel Louise Cooke was home for Christmas break from college when she vanished without a trace. The FBI says Rachel was last seen on January 10, 2002 jogging in her parents’ neighborhood. Investigators say she had plans to run about three or four miles through her parents’ Georgetown, Texas subdivision. She left their home around 11:30 a.m. Rachel’s family says she is an accomplished cross-country runner, and usually does the same jog every morning. She was last seen wearing a green sports top, grey shorts, Asics shoes, and was carrying a yellow walkman. This case has been a mystery for nearly eight years now, but her family isn’t giving up hope. They created a website chocked full of information on her case, and events they get involved with to keep their daughter’s name in the spotlight. You can visit the site and download fliers to post around your own community.
Rachel has a tattoo of two heart-shaped cherries on her left shoulder, and a black star on her foot. She has multiple piercings to include pierced ears and a pierced navel.

THOUGHT OF THE WEEK: Mother Abandoned Her Family
Saturday, April 24th, 2010
Tiffany Tehan caught the national spotlight when the missing mom vanished last weekend. Hundreds of volunteers flocked to the area where her truck was found, her family started a website and prayer groups were formed. No one could begin to understand how a beautiful mother of a one year old, and a woman who’s been married for over eight years could just vanish. Everyone wondered if she was another victim of an abduction.
Police told me her vehicle was found in a nearby park with a flat tire and her keys were locked inside. Then, in an odd twist, earlier this week investigators released surveillance shots of Tiffany with an unknown man. They had been seen on a few occasions at a local convenience store spending time together. But who was the man? Tiffany’s family didn’t know and neither did her friends. An investigation identified the mystery man as Tre B. Hutcherson, a married man himself, and it turned out that he had been missing as well.
WASHINGTON: Mother and Son missing timeline (update)
Tuesday, March 16th, 2010
Shantia Smiley (left) Azriel (right)
A mother and her 8-year-old son vanished over the weekend, creating a mystery that is leaving investigators stumped. Shantina Smiley and her son Azriel went missing on Saturday evening in Olympia, Washington. They left their home in Silverdale, Washington around 5 p.m. and were heading to her step-father’s home in Castle Rock. Shantina’s van was found early the next morning, abandoned near the North Gull Harbor. Police say the doors were open, cash, license and a credit card were left inside, but Shantina’s purse was gone. The search continues today to find this family as investigators put divers in the water, helicopters in the air, and are sending police patrols door-to-door. Robb Simmon’s, Shantina’s fiancé, has created a website with his timeline of events.
I spoke with Lt. Chris Mealey from the Thurston Sheriff’s office, and the following is based off the timeline he has constructed on this case:
5 p.m. – Shantina and her son leave their home in Silverdale, Washington. Their destination was Castle Rock, Washington (about 50 miles away).
WHERE IS JENNIFER KESSE?
Sunday, January 10th, 2010
It is hard to believe it’s been more than four years since Jennifer Kesse was last seen in Orlando, FL. Police say she didn’t show up for work at Central Florida Investments on January 24, 2006. Early on in this investigation, her family told me that it was unlike her not to call if she was going to be late, or if something came up. Her boyfriend thought it was odd that he had not heard from Jennifer that morning on her way to work, and when he called her office, they said she had never arrived. Police responded to her condo to find nothing out of the ordinary. Later that afternoon, Jennifer’s friends and family sprung into action by canvassing the area with fliers looking for their loved one.
Just two days after her disappearance, police found Jennifer’s car abandoned in a condominium complex only a mile away from where she lived. It appears from surveillance video seen here that a suspect parked her car, and walked away. Investigators say there were valuables left inside her vehicle, so they do not feel this is a robbery.
