When Haley Faith Wilson ran away from home one day after Christmas, her father was heartbroken. Instead of hiding or not making his voice heard, he jumped onto social media and then created this video. Often times, especially in missing person investigations, parents aren’t sure what to do. This was a compelling, creative example of what parents can do if this happens to them.

Friday, January 13th, 2012Crimefighting App Launched At University, Created By Professor and Team
Friday, September 16th, 2011
Virtual crimefighting is now a reality on one college campus. Professor Ashok Agrawala and his team on the University of Maryland campus designed and launched a new crime tool to help instantly fight and prevent crime on the university grounds. It is a smartphone app called M-Urgency that can transmit personal information and location directly to dispatchers by recording audio and video. This method efficiency allows dispatchers to relay the information to officers on the ground.
All students have to do is subscribe to M-Urgency through their phone using their student ID. If they find themselves in a emergency situation, all they have to do is hit the button. The best part is the video transmitted will be recorded and can be used in a court of law if needed.
Developers are hoping to expand their services to other universities in the future and other phone services too.
Right now, the services works on all Android phones with hopefully future development for iPhones.

PAULA SLADEWSKI MURDERED
Investigators are putting the pieces together and trying to figure out who would set Paula Sladewski on fire and then throw her in a trash dumpster.
Cops say Paula’s body was “burned beyond recognition” and firefighters were called to put out the flames at a dumpster fire. Her body was identified a few days later through dental records. Paula is originally from Michigan, and in 2003 she appeared in a video for Playboy. At this time, investigators are calling her boyfriend a “person of interest.”
Police know the couple arrived in Miami on New Year’s Eve with friends, they watched Lady GaGa perform, and had plans to say in Miami throughout the weekend. On January 2, 2009, that Saturday night, the couple went to Club Space – until they got into an argument at 7 a.m. Sunday morning and split up. That’s when cops say she was last seen.
