A tattoo displaying a detailed murder scene led one L.A. County Sheriff detective to the jail cell of the suspect. It is common practice for Investigator Kevin Lloyd to review photos of tattooed gang members and when Anthony Garcia’s chest came across his desk, the scene caught the veteran detectives eye.
Investigator Lloyd made the discovery in 2008 after Garcia’s photo was snapped for a minor traffic violation. Lloyd is familiar with the scene on his skin because it was one of his patrol areas and the cold case was always lingering on his mind. John Jaurez, 23, was gunned down in 2004 and the entire crime scene is mapped out on Garcia’s chest – even down to the Christmas lights hanging outside.
With all the stars aligning and stellar detective work, justice is brought to the table for another innocent victim.
