Kyron Horman, missing child from Oregon has never been found.  The Bring Kyron Home website has continued to raise awareness of this case, spread the word about recent activity and also offers a place where you can download and distribute fliers in various languages.

Police say Kyron went missing on June 4, 2010in Portland, Oregon. He was last seen at the Skyline Elementary school where he attended a morning science fair with his step-mother, Terri Moulton Horman.

The case has had many bizarre twists and turns since then, but to date investigators have not named a suspect or person of interest. A grand jury has been behind doors for weeks hearing testimony and information from people who knew Terri, or who may have information about Kyron. Investigators told me they’ve received thousands of leads in this case, but none have led them to Kyron.

Kyron Horman Missing
Kyron Horman Missing

More than 4,000 leads have poured in to help investigators with the search for Kyron Horman.   This week, Multnomah County Sheriff Dan Staton said he will brief commissioners and the public on this case.

Kyron went missing from his Skyline elementary school on June 4, 2010 in Portland, Ore. while attending a science fair with his step-mother, Terri Horman.  Authorities said they have identified all 490 persons and all 54 vehicles at the school that day, but they are no closer to solving this mystery.  Since Kyron’s disappearance, dozens of searches and fundraisers have been held to raise money and awareness for the 7-year-old.  No persons of interest or suspects have been named, but Terri Horman continues to be in the spotlight.  Terri and Kyron’s father, Kane, are currently going through a divorce.

Desiree Young, Kyron’s mother, set out over the weekend to put pressure on Terri’s neighbors.  She passed out fliers in Roseburg, Ore. about 200 miles away from where Kyron was last seen.  Roseburg is also the new home and neighborhood of Terri Horman.  Desiree wants Terri’s neighbors to know that she lives there and doesn’t want the public to forget about her son.

If you have any information on this investigation, please contact the Multnomah County Sheriff’s office.

Kyron Horman Missing
Kyron Horman Missing

Tomorrow will mark the six week anniversary since Kyron Horman went missing, and every single day there is a new development.  Usually when a child goes missing, within a week or two the case falls out of the spotlight, but this family’s personal and bizarre life has kept this case alive and the public wanting more.  Over the last couple of days investigators in Portland have been seen searching on the ground for clues and re-interviewing witnesses at the school from where the 7-year-old went missing.  Desiree Young, Kyron’s mother, spoke out and said she thinks her son’s disappearance was planned and executed by his step-mother Terri Moulton-Horman.

DAY #4 – MISSING MOM AND SON (update)

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010
Shantina Smiley MISSING
Shantina Smiley MISSING

Today marks the fourth day a mother and her 8-year-old son have been missing.  Shantina Smiley and her son Azriel vanished over the weekend in Olympia, Washington creating a mystery that is leaving investigators stumped.  Police say Shantina and Azriel left their home in Silverdale, Washington around 5 p.m. and were heading to her step-father’s home in Castle Rock.  Shantina’s van was found early the next morning, abandoned near the North Gull Harbor, nowhere near her destination.  Police say the doors were open, cash, license and a credit card were left inside, but Shantina’s purse was gone.  The search continues this week to find this family as investigators put divers in the water, helicopters in the air, and are sending police patrols door-to-door.  Robb Simmons, Shantina’s fiancé, has created a website with his timeline of events.  I spoke with Lt. Chris Mealey from the Thurston Sheriff’s office this morning, and he says the water and ground search has been called off, but the investigation continues.  Investigators will continue to go door-to-door and track down leads to find Shantina and her son.  He says a neighbor reported hearing noise outside their home around 1 a.m. Sunday morning, so investigators will be at that home today to see if there are traces of the missing mom and son.
