KYRON HORMAN’S FATHER FILES FOR DIVORCE

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

In a shocking twist in the Kyron Horman case, Kyron’s father Kaine filed for divorce from his wife Terri Moulton-Horman.  Investigators say Terri may have been the last person to see Kyron before he vanished on June 4, 2010.  I have the paperwork from the Multnomah County Circuit Court, and along with filing the petition for dissolution of marriage, Kaine also filed a restraining order against his wife.  The ex parte motion is sealed and we do not know what evidence was brought forward to restrict Terri from seeing her child and husband, but in most cases restraining orders are not granted unless there is a threat presented to the parties seeking protection.  In the divorce petition, Kaine sites the reason for the divorce as irreconcilable differences, and he is seeking full custody of the 18-month-old daughter he has with Terri.  The paperwork states Kaine and Terri were married on April 15, 2007 in Hawaii, and he is seeking child support for their child.

Domestic violence is a vicious cycle, a cycle that many victims cannot pull themselves out of because of children, their safety, or just plain fear of being alone. It appears Venus Stewart was pulling herself out of a violent relationship. She packed up her children and moved to Michigan to get away from her husband, and now she is missing. Lt. Risko with the Michigan State Police says Venus was snatched from the front yard of her parents’ home on April 26, 2010 as she went to mail a letter.

Her husband, Doug Stewart, denies any wrongdoing. He initially provided an alibi, which is not solid, and investigators consider him the only person of interest. In a bizarre twist this week, Lt. Risko told me today he believes there was an impersonator running around pretending to be Doug Stewart in his hometown of Newport News, Virginia. The same hometown Doug Stewart claimed to be in the morning his estranged wife vanished.
