The FBI’s Innocence Lost Initiative and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children had a busy weekend rescuing children and taking down predators who were pimping kids out for money. Operation Cross Country V was a successful three day sweep saving 69 children who were victims and arresting 99 alleged predator pimps. According to a press release by the FBI, 885 others were arrested on state and local charges as well. In this sting the youngest child rescued was 12 and the oldest 17. I had the opportunity to meet with members of this specific team and the work they do for the children is stellar. The agents hearts and souls are in it for serving justice.

Operation Cross Country Rescues Children From Child Prostitution
Tuesday, November 9th, 2010FBI: CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN
Tuesday, November 24th, 2009I had a meeting today with the FBI in Washington, D.C. This gathering was a great opportunity to get acquainted with agents from the Crimes Against Children specialized unit. Sometimes when you think of the FBI, you may think intelligence and terrorism, and not so much about child protection. I learned a lot during our discussion, especially when it relates to child abductions, and I want to pass this insight along to you.
The FBI Crimes Against Children division is stacked with specialized agents in child safety to accomplish two main goals:
1- Innocence Lost initiative – To prevent child prostitution, and take down the “pimp” predators.
2- CARD Team – To rapidly deploy a CARD Team anywhere in the country to provide expertise and assist law enforcement during the most critical time period following abduction.
