UPDATE 4:30 p.m. – Middlesex County Prosecutors charged Dwayne Jackson today with endangering the welfare of a child. Jackson is currently being held on $750,000 bail. Authorities say the toddler was living with her mother in North Brunswick. Police say the body of a young female was found burning in Ramapo, New York, and they do confirm that the body is in fact somehow related to this case.
Yesterday, a representative at the Newark Police Department told me that investigators have a tentative ID on the two year old and where she is from. The representative did confirm to me that a Good Samaritan found the little girl by herself and crying in a men’s bathroom at a gas station in Newark. She was wearing a tan puffy coat and purple shoes. An investigation is underway. We are hoping to learn more about this child’s situation, more about Dwayne Jackson and if the body found is the toddler’s mother. Stay tuned…
