Robert Salcedo victim
Augustin Roberto “Bobby” Salcedo was on vacation in Mexico over the holidays when investigators say he was abducted and killed by gunmen. From what we’ve learned about the case, Bobby and his wife were at dinner with friends in the city of Gomez Palacio when gunmen burst into the establishment. Patrons were forced to the floor, and six victims were abducted and murdered. All the bodies were found on New Year’s day in the northern state of Durango by Mexican officials. Family, friends, and officials are outraged, and Rep. Judy Chu, D-Calif., recently issued a statement reaching out to authorities in Mexico to act quickly. She is asking them to get to the bottom of what she calls a “senseless killing.” Hundreds of family and friends packed into a El Monte church yesterday to remember this man who was known for helping students get into college. Bobby was the assistant principal at El Monte High school, and was working on his doctorate in educational leadership at UCLA. In November 2009, Bobby was re-elected to serve a second term on the board of the El Monte City School District.
The attackers may work for the Mexican drug cartel, if you have any information, please contact the FBI.

- Marc Bookal MISSING
MARC BOOKAL MISSING
This is a case that is close to the heart, and one I have brought you since day one. Marc Bookal was reported missing by his mother’s boyfriend, Cory Byrd on December 14, 2009. Marc’s family has gone through the freezing weather and the holidays without their child. He hasn’t been seen since Byrd told police that he found the downstairs door open, and Marc was missing. Today, police told me they called off the ground search to locate Marc, but the investigation to find out what happened to him is still on going.
Early on in the search, Sgt. Toomey with the Newburg police told me over the phone that Byrd thought Marc walked a few steps away in an adjacent building to visit his aunt, something he did frequently. The toddler has discoloration on the back of his hands from a recent burn injury, and he was last seen wearing a red long sleeved shirt, gray sweatpants, and Nike shoes. Anoymous tipsters have come forward to offer money to the fund to find this toddler including Carlie’s Crusade Foundation.
