UPDATE: Murder Mystery Rocks Quaint Disney Town

Saturday, December 4th, 2010
Celebration Disney

Celebration Disney

The town of Celebration in Florida resembles a quaint New England village, but there isn’t much to celebrate these days.  The community is the brainchild of the folks at Walt Disney World and is now home to more than 11,000 residents.  The citizens take pride in their community.  Along with patrols from the local sheriff’s department, the citizens also hire their own separate security to comb the streets of their hometown around the clock.

The community is close knit and neighbors know when things are out of the ordinary.  Things were definitely out of the ordinary last weekend.   Celebration resident Matteo Giovanditto, 58, hadn’t been seen for a few days, and his neighbors went to authorities to report him missing on Sunday.

By Monday, authorities were knocking on the door of his condo, but he didn’t answer.  Matteo’s black corvette wasn’t in the driveway, and it appeared he may have just left, but it wasn’t like him to leave and not tell anyone.

MOJAVE DESERT CROSS STOLEN, REWARD AND NEW WEBSITE LAUNCHED

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

www.christianpost.com

www.christianpost.com

The Mojave Desert Cross has been standing for 75 years and it is still missing.  The cross was originally set in place by World War I veterans.  The memorial to honor fallen soldiers was stolen two months ago and the destruction of the cross is a federal crime under the Veterans’ Memorial Preservation and Recognition Act of 2003.

The cross has been the center of a Supreme Court ruling, and a lawsuit by a former National Park Service employee. Frank Buono claims the cross is on federal land, and that violates the establishment clause of the First Amendment to the Constitution. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled the cross could stay on the land.

The cross stands seven feet tall; It is made of steel pipes and concrete and overlooks a million acres of desert. It appears someone was not happy with the Supreme Courts ruling.

There is now a reward for $125,000 put up by the Liberty of Institute and VFW that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.  The Library Institute has also launched a website to “Put the Cross Back.”

NAILING DOWN A TIMELINE

Anthony Edward Sowell, 50

Anthony Edward Sowell, 50

TIMELINE OF ANTHONY SOWELL’S LIFE:

I am in the process of nailing down a detailed timeline for Anthony Edward Sowell, and the disturbing case surrounding the six bodies of African American females rotting inside his home in Cleveland, OH.

Please keep in mind, at this point Anthony Sowell has not formally been charged with the murders of the women found in his home–but investigators do tell me they are preparing to formally charge him soon.  Sowell was a United States Marine, and it makes me wonder how someone could take such a wrong turn in life.

As the hours go on, and as dates and locations are confirmed, this timeline will expand and incidents will be further detailed.

August 19, 1959 – Anthony Edward Sowell was born (according to the Ohio Attorney General’s office of sex offender registry)

July 11, 1977 – Sowell Enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. (according to GySgt Nun, United States Marine Corp Media Chief)

January 22, 1985 – Sowell ends service with the Marines (according to GySgt. Nun, United States Marine Corp Media Chief)

UPDATE: SIX BODIES FOUND

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009
Anthony Sowell, Convicted Sex Offender

Anthony Sowell, Convicted Sex Offender

Just before going live this evening, I was able to get in touch with the former mother-in-law of Anthony Sowell.  According to investigators, six bodies were found dead inside Sowell’s home in Cleveland, Ohio.  His former mother-in-law does not wish to have her name published, but what she did say was Sowell was married to her daughter a little more than 20 years ago. Sadly, her daughter passed away about 11 years ago (unrelated to this case), and she doesn’t remember too many details about Sowell.  However she was able to tell me that Sowell and her daughter met while they were both serving in the military. Her daughter was only married to Anthony Sowell about a year, then they divorced. During that time period, Sowell stayed overnight at her house once, and seemed very normal to her. Although everything seemed to be okay, she did say her family did not know much about him. After Sowell and her daughter separated, he moved away. She said the couple lived together on base while they were in the United States Marine Corps. I contacted the headquarters of the United States Marine Corps tonight, and because I received this information after business hours, they were going to have to put the request into St. Louis to have the archives searched to confirm the actual dates Sowell was serving in the military.  The mother I spoke to is going to go through some of her daughter’s old records for more information, and pictures, and I will touch base with her again in the morning.  I am supposed to hear back from the Marines tomorrow as well, and I will update this story then.

First Day on the Beat

Sunday, November 1st, 2009

A little about me… My name is Michelle Sigona, and my passion is helping people and working hard. I’ve been in television news for a decade now, and most of my time was spent with the awesome Fox show, “America’s Most Wanted.” This is where so many wonderful things are accomplished for so many people across the globe. Recently, I decided it was time for me to open a new chapter in my own life, and pursue the next portion of my dreams. If I have learned anything so far, it is that is you cannot achieve your biggest goals by standing on the shore, you have got to take a swim in the ocean!

I’ve been blessed to branch out on my own, and create Michelle Sigona Communications.

One of several entities of this corporation is this website you are on. This is a place where I will dive into breaking crime news, and feature stories that matter most to me — ultimately because I think the topic will help you in your own lives.
