ANDOVER POLICE: Double Murder, Husband and Wife Found Dead In Mansion

Diana Mercandetti was shocked and saddened to learn her friends, Jack and Geri Magee, of forty years were murdered this week.  Diana said she received a call from the couple’s daughter Holly who said, “Are you sitting down?”  In the next breath, she told Diana that her parents were shot and killed and that she needed her to come to their home right away to help look after the grandchildren.  Diana said Holly and her kids went to the Jack and Geri’s house on Wednesday for their weekly visit when they made the gruesome discovery. 

Andover Police Lt. James Hashem said they are investigating this case as a homicide, and aren’t saying yet how the couple died.  The medical examiner’s report has not been released.  Diana said that the family had an alarm system, but they did not activate it before the murder and they do not have video survillenece.  The couples SUV was found in a neighborhood 25 miles away, it had been torched.  Diana also said that it did not appear that things were taken from the home.

“Flash Mob” Hits Another Maryland Store, Police Investigating

Investigators say flash mobs are on the rise and many of the suspects are using social media to coordinate their negative efforts.  The National Retailer Federation polled retailers over the summer and all around the country.  They say over three-quarters, 79%, of retailers report being a victim of a multiple offender crime and 10% of those incidents involve flash mobs over the last year.

The NRF complied a large document of information to help retailers understand how best to respond to these types of incidents.

In a recent incident last weekend, a flash mob hit a 7-11 in Silver Spring, Maryland.  If you have any information on these alleged offenders, please contact Montgomery County Police – 301.279.8000.

FBI: “Bad Hair Bandit” Sought, Six Robberies In Two States

The FBI is looking to identify a man sought for six robberies in Tennessee and Kentucky.  According to information from the FBI website and wanted poster, posted below, all incidents have occured in 2011.  

On June 9, 2011, the First Volunteer Bank located at 189 Fifth Street in Jellico, Tennessee was robbed by an unknown subject. The suspect, a White male, wearing a short, curly, dark-colored women’s wig and sunglasses, entered the bank at approximately 10:50 a.m. and waited in the lobby until asked to approach the teller. He demanded money via note, placed the money in a turquoise cloth bag, and subsequently fled the bank on foot.On June 17, 2011, an unknown subject robbed the Commercial Bank located at 202 North Main Street in Barbourville, Kentucky. The suspect, a White male wearing a short, curly, dark-colored women’s wig and sunglasses, entered the bank’s lobby around 5:15 p.m. and handed the teller a note demanding cash.  The suspect fled the bank in a small, dark sedan, carrying an undisclosed amount of money in a black gym bag.

PHILADELPHIA POLICE: Jewlery Store Robbery Caught On Tape

Philadelphia Police need your help identifying two males who robbed the Belaggio Jewelry Store at gunpoint.  In the video, the suspects can be seen forcing three store employees into the back office.  Investigators say on November 4, around 4:50 p.m. the suspects removed trays of jewelry from the front counter and rear safe.  The men were last seen fleeing the area of Cottman Avenue on foot before getting into a green Ford Contour with Pennsylvania tags.

Authorities say an off-duty officer followed the suspects for a short time before losing them.  The getaway vehicle was parked in the rear lot of a nearby Sears store.  According to a press release the suspect description is as follows:

Suspect #1: Black male, 40 years-of-age, 5′10 to 6′, reddish beard, close cut hair to bald, dark complexion wearing a dark suit with a leather jacket armed with a black handgun.

Suspect #2: Black male, late 35 to 40 years-of-age, 6′, close cut hair wearing a grey sweat suit, blue jeans, brown sun glasses with gold frames armed with a silver handgun.
