UPDATE FROM THE VILLA PARK POLICE DEPARTMENT:

An arrest warrant has been issued for Eric A Gilford for the murder of his wife and unborn child. Eric is charged with (1) count of First Degree Murder and (1) count of Intentional Homicide of an Unborn Child. Bond was set today at $3,000,000.”

A manhunt is underway for an active-duty sailor who allegedly murdered his pregnant wife.  I spoke with Investigator Todd Kubish from the Villa Park Police Department this morning, and he confirms there is an active murder warrant to find Eric Gilford, 31, of Downers Grove.

Kubish says on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, Gilford tracked down his wife at another man’s home in Villa Park.  She was inside the apartment with her 4-year-old daughter, Gracie May.  The man was not home at the time.

An argument ensued, and Kubish says Gilford allegedly stabbed his wife repeatedly and fled the scene.  The child ran upstairs to get help for her mother, but by the time police arrived, Gilford was gone.

NYC BOMB SUSPECT ARRESTED

Tuesday, May 4th, 2010

An arrest has been made in the weekend bomb incident in New York City. Investigators say Faisal Shahzad, 30, was arrested as he attempted to board a flight late last night. Shahzad is an American citizen who was living in Connecticut, and paid cash for the SUV he used as a homemade bomb on wheels.

Attorney General Eric H. Holder, Jr. said in the middle of the night at a press conference, “It was clear that the intent behind this terrorist act was to kill Americans.” Official charges have not been brought down against Shahzad yet, but he will appear in court later today to face formal charges. The key to cracking this investigation so quickly appears to be the vehicle, and the sale of the SUV. Authorities say Shahzad allegedly purchased the car based off an Internet listing.

Remembering Aja Johnson

Remembering Aja Johnson

I spoke with Deputy U.S. Marshal Arthur Templeton this morning, and he told me he was processing a crime scene in Norman, Oklahoma where it appears the bodies of Lester Hobbs and Aja Johnson have been located.  The vehicle Hobbs was driving was found in a very rural area, off Southeast 108 Street and Highway 9.  Templeton says a surveyor was doing a survey of property in the area when he spotted the vehicle.  He went up to the car, saw the bodies, and called police.

A law enforcement source on the ground told me because of the decomposition that Hobbs and Aja most likely died about a week after the initial murder of Tonya Hobbs in January. “He got in that area, probably to lay low for a few days, got in there with the storm and maybe got trapped.  One thing led to another, couldn’t get the vehicle out, and would have to walk out on foot… he chose to stay.”  My source says Aja’s body was found outside the vehicle and Hobbs was found inside the car.  At this point, it appears to be a murder-suicide.  Hobbs’ body wasn’t as badly decomposed because he wasn’t exposed to the elements.  We are still waiting for the Medical Examiner to confirm the bodies and how they died.

Tyrone Adir Wanted

Tyrone Adair Wanted

QUADRUPLE HOMICIDE

Tragedy struck Madison, Wisconsin on December 3, 2009 when police found the bodies of two mothers and their daughters.  Police say 33-year-old Tracy Judd and her 23-month-old daughter Deja Adair were found shot to death inside a car at the 6800 block of Park Edge Drive. Two hours later, in Middletown, Wisconsin, investigators found 25-year-old Amber Weigel, and her 2-year-old daughter Neveah Weigel-Adair dead in a trunk at the 2600 block of Branch Street.  Police are not saying how Amber and Neveah died, but they do know they were not shot.

Investigators say the common person in both of these cases is the children’s father, Tyrone Adair.  Madison Police charged Adair with first-degree intentional homicide on Friday, December 4, 2009 for the death of Tracy and Deja, and he is considered a person of interest in the deaths of Amber and Nevah.

The suspect, Adair, is believed to be in paternity/child support cases with both of these women.  Madison police consider him armed and dangerous.  If you have any information that will help police take this man off the streets, please contact Madison Crimestoppers: (608) 266-6014
