Police in Atlanta say two men are responsible for a string of armored car robberies including one on Monday that killed a courier. The FBI said an unknown gunman opened fire on a Garda armored car courier as he was walking back to his truck. The courier was walking from a Toco Hills Kroger store on La Vista Road. The suspect shot at the victim three times before stealing the money and fleeing.
The FBI said they determined the vehicle used as the getaway car was carjacked the day before in Snellville, Georgia. It is possible the suspect and his alleged accomplice may be responsible for a string of other armored car robberies dating back to Sept. 2010.
The gunman is described as a black male of medium complexion, late 20s to early 30s, 5’11”. The getaway driver in some of the incidents is also described as a black male in his 20s or 30s.
The courier’s company has offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the men responsible. If you know anything at all, please contact FBI Atlanta: (404) 679-9000
