“SNAGGED” CAUGHT ON TAPE: Police Hunt Suspect For Attempted Sexual Assault On 12-Year-Old

Monday, February 14th, 2011

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man they believe tried to assault a 12-year-old girl as she walked home from school, and it is all caught on tape.  The victim was walking home through a church parking lot on Feb. 10, around 4:20 p.m., when she was grabbed from behind and dragged a short distance to a low hanging tree. The victim told the suspect that there were people in the area, and that he better leave.  Investigators say the suspect fled on foot toward 28th street.

Authorities have worked two other similar incidents, the first on Nov. 29, 2010 when a man grabbed a 15-year-old.  Once she put up a fight, he ran on foot and left her behind.  On Jan. 31, another incident occurred to another 15-year-old.

The suspect is described as a black male, between 30 and 40 years old, around 6 feet tall.  He was wearing a dark hoodie sweatshirt and black basketball shorts.  If you have any information, please contact:  (941) 747-3011

SOUTHERN MARYLAND GANG RAPE, SUSPECTS WANTED

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

JUAN “FRANCISCO” ORELLANA

JUAN “FRANCISCO” ORELLANA

March 16, 2010 was a life changing day for a woman in Virginia we will call “Melanie.” Investigators from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office were called to a home in Waldorf, Maryland to assist a Hispanic female who was gang raped. When they arrived at the scene, they found a distraught woman who had been attacked.

Through the investigation, police discovered that Melanie went out earlier in the night to a place called “Fast Eddie’s” nightclub in Virginia. Investigator Jack Austin said she met and exchanged numbers with a man who called himself “Francisco.” When the nightclub closed, Melanie didn’t have a ride home, and Francisco, later identified as Lionicio Argueta, said he would take her home. Investigator Austin says when Melanie got in his vehicle there were several other Hispanic males in the back seats. She knew there was a problem when she heard Argueta on the phone saying something to the effect that he had one he was bringing down to the house.

A fun night out turned into a nightmare when she was taken inside the house off Country Lane. Once inside, Investigator Austin says an unknown Hispanic male later identified as Jose Maria Echebarria told her to strip down naked or she would be killed.

Melanie, scared to death, complied and was forced to stand naked surrounded by men she didn’t know. Austin says she was ordered to have sex with the men there, and if she didn’t they would kill her. Echebarria allegedly ordered her to perform oral and vaginal sex with him, and investigators say as this was happening the men were standing around throwing up their gang signs and taunting her.

Police in Austin, Texas say Karen Anastacio, 13, was abducted last week by a man she knew. Authorities say Angel Rojas, 25, was seen taking the teen in his brown 1997 GMC Jimmy from the Bedichek Middle School around 8 a.m. on May 6, 2010.

Investigators say Karen’s family was about to file criminal charges against Rojas for a previous attack on the teen, but he was able to get to her first. Those assault charges were filed on Friday, and there is a warrant out for Rojas’ arrest.

Over the weekend police announced that the Amber Alert had been canceled, and that they believe Rojas and Karen are already over the border into Mexico.  Austin police are working with the Mexican authorities. Karen weighs 115 pounds, and she is 5’2”. She was last seen wearing a black shirt and pants and carrying a pink back pack.  Rojas is only 135 pounds, and short at only 5’3”. Police say his license plate number is:   84TFL4.

Remembering Amber Dubois
Remembering Amber Dubois

Investigators confirm the skeletal remains found in a remote area of San Diego County are those of Amber Dubois.  Amber went missing on February 13, 2009 as she was walking to her high school in Escondido, California.  Investigators will not say if convicted sex offender, John Albert Gardner is responsible for her death, or if he has any connection to her case.  Gardner is currently behind bars, and is charged with the murder and rape of 17-year-old Chelsea King.  Chelsea went missing a little more than a week ago as she was jogging through a San Diego County park.  Gardner is also charged with a December 2009 assault of a woman in the same area.  As we learn more about the investigation… we will bring it to you.
