- Aja Johnson & Lester Hobbs (police say photo was taken just hours before the murder)
The United States Marshal Service held a press conference in Oklahoma today. Authorities released brand new pictures and information in the Aja Johnson case. It’s been more than a month since Aja Johnson was abducted and her mother Tonya was found beaten to death inside an RV. Since then, investigators in Oklahoma have issued a warrant for Lester Hobbs arrest charging him with first degree murder and kidnapping. I spoke with Deputy U.S. Marshal Arthur Templteton out of the Loughton office earlier, and he said there has been no activity on the case. He stated that they have, “not had anything viable on the vehicle, Aja Johnson, or Lester Hobbs.”
When this case originally broke, there was a massive ice storm that swept through most of the state of Oklahoma. The storm paralyzed the region for 8 – 14 days. During that period, many folks were without power, so some have not even heard about the Amber Alert or the murder.

Lester Hobbs (suspect)
Two weeks have passed since Aja Johnson was abducted and her mother Tonya was found beaten to death inside an RV. Since then investigators in Oklahoma issued a warrant for Lester Hobbs arrest charging him with first degree murder and kidnapping. Hobbs is a convicted felon, and according to court documents was not supposed to have any contact with Aja. Police say they’ve received leads about possible sightings of Hobbs, the United States Marshals service sex offender unit is involved, but so far nothing has panned out. The Oklahoma Bureau of Investigations and the United States Marshal service put out a $20,000 reward, hoping someone will bring them the information they need to find this child. Funeral services for Tonya Hobbs are scheduled tomorrow for 11 a.m.
Last week I spoke with Alice Dunkin, Tonya Hobbs mother, and missing 7-year-old Aja Johnson’s grandmother. She told me she screamed bloody murder and “blew up” when she learned her daughter was killed. It is devastation to Alice especially because she said her son was shot and killed nearly three years ago, and now she has to go through this with her daughter. Along with losing both of her children, Alice fears what may happen to her granddaughter Aja,

Eddie Salazar MISSING
UPDATE: Sadly, 8-month-old Eddie Salazar was found in the Spring River, just east of Carthage earlier this afternoon. Police say Eddie Salazar Sr., the baby’s father, is charged with filing a false police report, and is now considered the prime suspect in his son’s murder. This case is very similar to the Aveion Lewis case in Roanoke, Virginia where investigators say Aveion’s step father filed a false police report that his step-son was abducted, and a few weeks later the toddler’s body was found in a landfill.
Police say Eddie Salazar was abducted late last night by two masked men. He is only 8-months-old, and has a lung-shaped birthmark on his right bicep. Investigators say two men broke into Eddie’s home, beat his father, and left with the child. It appears, at this point, the abduction was random. If you have any information, please call: (417) 237-7200
We will bring you more as this story develops…

Remembering Aveion Lewis
Police, FBI and volunteers from other states are on the ground to find Aveion’s body. Investigators say based on information they obtained from Aveion’s step-father, Brandon Lockett, they believe the toddler was dead prior to the reported abduction on January 14, 2009. Police have charged Lockett with improper disposal of a human body, obstruction of justice, and felony child neglect. At this time, Aveion’s mother is not charged.
According to a police press release, “the department has investigated the reported abduction and received varying degrees of cooperation from key persons in the investigation; which lead police to question the validity of information received from some individuals. As a result, investigators began to focus on the possibility that Brandon Lockett, Aveion’s step-father was not providing accurate details.”
Conflicting statements from the step-father were given to authorities, and at this time, Brandon Lockett is in custody. No charges have been filed yet, but he is being questioned. Authorities say they have come to this conclusion because of conflicting statements given, and as time went on investigators were advised an abduction did not occur. Sadly, at this time, police do not know where Aveion’s body could be, but they have expanded the ground search to find the toddler.

Remembering Sarah Foxwell - Thomas Leggs, Jr.
The Sarah Foxwell case came to a tragic end on Christmas morning, just a couple weeks ago. The 11-year-old child was taken out of her bedroom she shared with her 6-year-old sister in the middle of the night allegedly by a convicted sex offender, Thomas Leggs. Police say Leggs knew the family, because he dated Sarah’s aunt, who is also her legal guardian. Police believe Sarah was snatched around 1 a.m. on December 22, 2009. Sarah’s 6-year-old sister told police she woke up to “Mr. Tommy” in their bedroom talking to Sarah. Investigators were called at 10:02 a.m. and based on the information they compiled, police were able to arrest Leggs and charge him with abduction and burglary within two hours. Sarah’s aunt told investigators that she had not seen Leggs since 32 days before the abduction. On Christmas morning, thousands of volunteers including parents and children gave up opening gifts to search for Sarah. Sheriff Lewis of the Wicomico County Sheriff’s office told me that one little boy even emptied his piggy bank, put it in a baggie and handed it to the Sheriff to donate it to the fund to find the child.
Sadly, Sarah’s body was found on the Maryland-Delaware line later that day. Her autopsy is complete, and the Sheriff told me Sarah has many causes of death all relating back to homicide, but he is not ready to release any more details about the struggle the child went through. Leggs is not only a sex offender in two states, Maryland and Delaware, but he is also facing charges out of Ocean City, Maryland from an incident stemming from September 11, 2009 where police say a woman woke up in the middle of the night to a naked Leggs standing at the end of her bed masturbating. If Leggs is in fact guilty and responsible for Sarah’s death, and Sheriff Lewis thinks he is, there is an obvious escalation in sexual attacks from the alleged September 11, 2009 incident to the time when Sarah was abducted, either before or in between police fear there may be other victims who may not have come forward.

Jean Paul Missing
Investigators say Jean Paul Lacombe was abducted by his non-custodial father, Jean Philippe Lacombe, on October 15, 2009 in San Antonio, Texas. Lacombe allegedly gave the court invalid Mexican Documents to overturn the case, and the judge gave him custody. Lacombe was supposed to show back up for a court hearing on Monday, October 19, 2009, but instead he fled with his son.
HISTORY OF CUSTODY:
Cliff Herberg with the Bexar District Attorney’s office in Texas says there are 1,400 pages pertaining to this case that have accumulated over the years in Mexican court. He has not had a chance to review every single page, but Mr. Herberg was able to provide a timeline and background of custody between the parents.
2003: Divorce proceedings began
2004: Divorce is finalized, and both parties agree Jean Paul will live with his father, and his mother will have “extended access” meaning she would still see her son on a daily basis by picking him up from school, taking him home, eating dinner with him.
March 2005: Father closes off son to the mother, she couldn’t see him.

Shannon Dedrick, 7-months-old
SHANNON DEDRICK IS ALIVE!
Residents in Chipley, FL are resting a little easier now that 7-month-old Shannon Dedrick was found alive. Shannon went missing on Halloween day from her Brown Street address, and wasn’t found until late last night. Investigators say they served a search warrant on Susan Baker’s home, and Baker is the child’s babysitter.
I just spoke with Kristen Perezluha, Public Information Officer, with the Florida Department of law enforcement and she says the baby was being kept in a box under Baker’s bed. Perezluha says the child was rushed to the hospital for evaluation, and thankfully the baby is doing well, and is very healthy. Right now, Susan Baker, and the child’s mother, Crystina Mercer are detained, and possibly facing charges. Susan’s husband was called in for questioning, but according to police, he’s since been released. There is a press conference scheduled later today, and I will bring you the latest then.
